Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One is considered by many to be one of the best sci fi novels of our generation. I loved the book, and I was over the moon when I heard that Steven Spielberg (who was mentioned in it multiple times) would be directing it. Now there’s a rumor that Gene Wilder, star of such films as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and more may be joining the cast as James Halliday the creator of OASIS.

We don’t know if this is true or not, but the rumors do say that there have already been several meetings between Wilder and Spielberg.
