In the same way that Jaws inspired all manner of ocean and animal-related horror films, it looks like ‘A Quiet Place’ has now started to inspire a slew of horror films based around the senses. In A Quiet Place, you had to be silent because the monsters could hear you, in Bird Box, you have to cover your eyes so you don’t see them and go crazy.

the craziest thing here is that this rather silly plot has attracted a tremendous cast headlined by Sandra Bullock and including Trevante Rhodes, with Sarah Paulson, and John Malkovich. I’m not gonna lie, just the weirdness of the story and the caliber of the cast is going to have me tuning into Netflix when this movie drops on December 21st.

When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life. Facing the unknown, Malorie finds love, hope and a new beginning only for it to unravel. Now she must flee with her two children down a treacherous river to the one place left that may offer sanctuary. But to survive, they’ll have to undertake the perilous two-day journey blindfolded. Academy Award® winner Sandra Bullock leads an all-star cast that includes Trevante Rhodes, with Sarah Paulson, and John Malkovich in #BirdBox, a compelling new thriller from Academy Award® winner Susanne Bier.
