Warner Bros. has just unveiled the first trailer for DC Comics’ “Wonder Woman” during its Comic-Con 2016 panel in Hal H.

While this is not the first time we’ve seen Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), this is the first time we’ve been introduced to her origin story which is set during World War I as an American pilot (Chris Pine) crash lands in Diana Prince’s sheltered island paradise inhabited by only Amazonian women.

Directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster) and penned by Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg, “Wonder Woman” stars Gal Gadot, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui.

“Wonder Woman” opens in theaters on June 2, 2017.

The official synopsis for Wonder Woman:
“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
