SHERLOCK Christmas Special To Be Set in Victorian England

I’m a big fan of Sherlock, but I’m not sure I’ve got a huge interest in a Christmas special that puts this version of the world’s greatest detective and his partner in crime back in time. Still, that’s exactly what showrunner, Steven Moffat told EW today about the special. The good news, is that it will at least be a stand alone episode and not part of the larger story in anyway.

“The special is its own thing,” Moffat stressed, making clear that the world of the new Sherlock Christmas special signals no change of course for the show overall. “we wanted to do this, but it had to be a special, it had to be separate entity on its own. It’s kind of in its own little bubble.”

Shooting on the special is just about complete, but no air date has been set as of yet.
