Sherlock creators and former Doctor Who showrunners, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, have picked the inspiration for their next series, Dracula. While no story details have been released as of yet, Variety is reporting that the show will follow a similar format to Sherlock, being released as a short seasons comprised of a small number of long episodes.

This is not the first time in recent years that “The Count” has been brought to the screen. It was just a couple years ago that NBC failed miserably at a Dracula series starring Johnny Rhys Meyers. Along with questions about who would be cast in the new series, there is heavy speculation over whether the show will be set in the modern age or filmed as a period piece.
