Before the first “Sherlock Homes” even movie premiered, we all just about knew that there was going to be a sequel. Well, the first film is already now out on DVD and Blu-ray and we have not only a confirmation on the sequel but its release date of December 16, 2011.

With a year away, “Sherlock Holmes 2” still obviously still in pre-production. As a result, we don’t know much about the plot. But it’s say to say that both Robert Downey Jr (Sherlock) and Jude Law (Watson) will be back along with their fearless director Guy Ritchie. Mixed in somewhere will be the story book villain Moriarty as hinted at from the end of the first film.

“Sherlock Holmes 2” will be pitted against “Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D” as well as “Mission: Impossible IV.” And with Steven Spielberg’s much anticipated “The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn” following the week after that. It will be a very crowded and exciting December come 2011.

  1. I remember that after my baseball play which cause for me to have a perfect game, I and my friends watched the Sherlock Holmes and I must say that this was a very nice movie. If ever there will be a Sherlock Holmes 2, I can’t wait to watch it again. I want to be clueless in the upcoming movie so that I will be thrilled if I watch it on the big screen.
