With Venom holding #1 for two weekends in a row, you know there’s no chance that they aren’t moving forward with the Jared Leto starring Morbius the Living Vampire. However, it looks like they won’t be looking towards existing Marvel Comic Books to find their villain for the film.
The Hashtag Show has revealed that writers for the film are creating a new character for the film named Loxias Crown. While he’ll be new, it’s being reported that he is at least partially based on Emil Nikos, Morbius’ friend-turned-enemy from the comics.
If that is the case, we are looking at an adaptation of a mutant character who was eventually known as Hunger in the comics. While he can’t be a mutant (wrong studio), it appears that they’ll work it so that both Morbius and Loxias have the same blood disease and when he takes the serum that turns Morbius into the living vampire, it will turn Crown into someone who is unable to control their bloodlust.
