Disney is loading up the release dates today, but the two biggest dates to take note of are actually release dates that are being changed for highly anticipated movies. The two big movies we are talking about are ‘Indiana Jones V’ and ‘Star Wars: Episode IX.’

Indiana Jones 5 is being pushed back a whole year from July 2019 to July 10, 2020. Meanwhile, Star Wars: Episode IX, which was assumed would continue on the December release pattern set by The Force Awakens and Last Jedi, has been set for May 24, 2019.

This is a really smart money move for Disney, especially when it comes to Star Wars. Not only will they now dominate the summer box office, but the timing is perfect for them to have a Blu-Ray release in time for the gift buying season of the same year. There are currently two films scheduled for the same opening Star Wars (Minecraft and Universal’s Doctor Dolittle reboot), but you can expect them to move out of the way.
