Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival director Denis Villeneuve is prepping his remake of Frank Herbert’s Dune for Legendary pictures and the cast of the film is starting to come together. Just the other day, it was reported that Guardians of The Galaxy star, David Bautista (who previously worked with Villeneuve on Blade Runner 2049) was cast in an unnamed role. It was also recently announced that Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson would headline the film as Paul Atreides and Lady Jessica. Now we have another big casting announcement for the film in the way of Stellan Skarsgard. The MCU star and father of many, many famous Skarsgards has signed on to play Baron Harkonnen.

Dune is a big story and has only ever been brought to live action as either a very long movie or a TV mini-series. Given the density of the story, it makes sense that rumors are pointing to the film actually being a two-parter that is being filmed back-to-back.

There’s currently no news on when the film is set to hit theaters, but we’ll keep you up to date as news warrants.
