Tremors has been one of the most enduring Science fiction adventure series in the 20th century. Over the last 25 years, the movie series has spanned 5 films, with a 6th being made now, as well as short-lived TV series. Now word is out that Syfy is planning on bringing the licence back to TV again, this time with Kevin Bacon back as original movie character, Valentine McKee.

Here’s what Bacon had to say on what drew him back to the role after so long:
It’s the only character I’ve ever played that I was interested in exploring 25 years later. [Tremors] is a really good movie. I don’t go back and watch my movies but because we were doing this one, I had to go back and look at it. It’s just the idea of this loser who is living a very ordinary life and has an extraordinary experience with these monsters and becomes, for a moment, a hero.

The new series will pick up 25 years after the events of the first film, with Bacon’s McKee”attempting to save the town again — but this time, also battling age, alcohol and a delusional hero complex.” So… pretty much Ash vs The Evil Dead, but with Graboids?
