Considered this either a MAJOR SPOILER or a fabricated shameless Internet rumor, but details are trickling out regarding one of “The Avengers” most guarded secret. What is the Leviathan? Well folks over at CBM thinks they know:

Last month, a New York shooting schedule was leaked online revealing some big action sequences. The most interesting part was something about mysterious Leviathan, which caused a big discussion. Some said it might be an alien ship, maybe a part of the big camera that is used for filming but there was also an article where someone mentioned via Twitter that “Leviathan” is actually a sea-monster. Well, a source close to the production of the Joss Whedon-directed film, who’ve provided reliable scoops in the past, shared some brief details about it.

So, here we go. According to my source, Leviathan is indeed a giant creature. I can’t say for sure if it’s a sea-monster, but it is definitely a big CGI creation. I have been told that this monster is reptilian-like, with horns coming out of its head.

Reptilian-like with horns? Could the Leviathan be Marvel’s infamous Fin Fang Foom? If so, how does this work into the story? Realistically, I just don’t see it happening despite how much I would kill to see Fin Fang Foom in the new movie. He’d be a bad guy that the Avengers would have to either kill or vanquish back into his realm. So while the fanboy in me is screaming “FOOM!” the rational and less optimistic half is brushing it off merely as a random Hydra monster. What do you think? Let us know below.
