We’ve already seen photos from the set of the movie adaptation of “The Hunger Games”, but what we just found out last night was that the movie that is being filmed isn’t exactly what everyone thought.

Most people were under the impression that the script for ‘The Hunger Games’ was written by Billy Ray. That might have been the case in the beginning, but Director, Gary Ross has now decided that Ray’s version just didn’t cut it.

The good news is that he’s going with a draft that will almost certainly stay very true to the source material. After all, the new draft is written in Collaboration between Gary Ross and the creator and author of the book , Suzanne Collins.

There is always a fear that an author might come into a screenwriting project and muck it up because the format and movement of written fiction and teleplay are so different. Thankfully, this isn’t Collins’ first rodeo. She has already cut her teeth working on several children’s shows.

Amidst this big news, it is almost easy to forget that they announced two more cast additions to the film last night.

Nelson Ascencio and Kimiko Gelman have been added to the cast as members of Katniss Everdeen’s Prep Team.

‘The Hunger Games’ will be released on the big screen March 23, 2012. It stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz and Woody Harrelson.
