“Boyhood” is an amazing film project that spanned over 12 years. Directed by Richard Linklater, the film was shot piece by piece starting in 2002 where a group of actors were filmed only once a year.

According to Linklater and why he filmed this way:
“I’ve long wanted to tell the story of a parent-child relationship that follows a boy from the 1st through the 12th grade and ends with him going off to college. But the dilemma is that kids change so much that it is impossible to cover that much ground.”

The story centers around a boy who was seven when the filming started and 19 when it ended.
