THR is reporting that “Tron Legacy” director Joseph Kosinski is also working on an interesting project called “Oblivion.” The project is based on his own concept and will be developed as a feature for Radical Pictures. To add to the star power behind the scenes, David Fincher has also signed on to produce. In an interesting turn, Kosinski is doing more than just making a movie. He’s also working on a graphic novel that will be the first illustrated novel to be produced by Radical Publishing. The book will have 40 different fully painted landscape images accompanied by prose.
The story centers on a battle-damaged soldier who, assigned to a desolate planet after a court-martial, patrols the bleak landscape in an effort to destroy the last vestiges of a primitive alien race. When a mysterious traveler arrives unexpectedly, their lives become inextricably linked as they are forced to question everything they know about this world and themselves.
