Deadline just reported that Tron: Legacy director, Joe Kosinski just has taken the title of highest grossing first film away from JJ Abrams. Abrams had the record for Mission Impossible 3 which brought in $397.5 million. ‘Tron Legacy squeaked by with $399 Million.

So, what does this mean? Generally it means… at least according to Deadline Hollywood, that a third Tron film is a forgone conclusion.

Now the only question that remains is… when will it get made? He’s still got the Black Hole and Oblivion to make, so it might be a while before it happens. Let’s just hope it isn’t another 20+ years!
