WARCRAFT Set to Begin Filming January 2014

The only thing that is keeping me from laughing off the idea of a World of Warcraft movie and dropping it in the same trash bin as the Dungeons and Dragons movies is the fact that Duncan Jones is the director. After the work he did on “Moon”, he has earned the benefit of the doubt on just about any project that he wants to take on.

At last month’s Comic-Con, Legendary Pictures showed off Jone’s test reel for the film to a pretty solid response from fans. In fact, the response was so good that they are now announcing that filming will begin on the film next January 13th and then the movie will be released sometime in 2015.

We don’t know much about the film, but we do know that it will closely follow the earlier iterations of the game from the 90’s and that it will have a very “Lord of the Rings” feel.
