Warner Bros. recently announced that they have officially greenlit a live-action CG-animated LEGO movie that’s set to debut in 2014. As much as I love LEGOs, I’m not entirely sure I want to see a LEGOs movie, but the premise itself does sound interesting. Not much is known about the plot and no cast has been announced.

But what we do know is that Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs), will be writing the script and directing. The film’s co-director will be Chris McKay who’s done work for “Robot Chicken” and has plenty of experience in doing stop-motion animation with toys. Additionally, Animal Logic (Happy Feet, Legends of the Guardians) will be doing the animation.

If I had a guess, I’d think the movie would be something like a hybrid between “A Night At the Museum” and “The Smurfs” where LEGOs come to life to either befriends silly humans or to terrorized them. We’ll have more as it develops.
