There were a lot of things cut from Star Wars: The Lost Jedi, either because they didn’t quite work on film or because there just wasn’t enough time allotted to include them all. After all, the film was already clocking in at 2:30 minutes, there’s only so long that you can sit in an air conditioned theater without having to get up and pee. That’s why it’s a good thing that we’ve got novelizations and Blu-Rays.

In the upcoming novelization of The Last Jedi, by Jason Fry, we will be getting to read a lot of the scenes that didn’t make it to the final cut of the film. One such scene was teased in the trailers (there’s a shot of Rey running along the beach at night), that was supposed to be her second lesson from Luke Skywalker. IN a new video from The Star Wars Show, we are getting our first look at more of that scene before it is fully fleshed out in the novel… and probably included in the Blu Ray. The scene and some words from Rian Johnson about the novelization start at the 3:20 mark.
