According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Battling Boy” focuses on “the son of a god who comes down from the top of a mountain at his father’s urging to rid the giant, continent-sized city of Monstropolis of a plague of beasts.”

The yet-to-be-released graphic novel is written and illustrated by Eisner winning American artist Paul Pope (Batman: Year 100, Heavy Liquid, TBH), who has allegedly written a 50 page battle scene, something that has never been done before.

Battling Boy the graphic novel will be published in spring 2010 by First Second Books.
