Woody Harrelson (Cheers/ Natural Born Killers, Zombieland, Hunger Games) has just officially signed on to join the cast of the upcoming Star Wars anthology film based on the early years of Han Solo’s life. While it’s been rumored for over a week, the news was just confirmed in the last five minutes by StarWars.com.

Harrelson is joining a cast that already includes, Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian), and Emilia Clarke in an unnamed role. While there is nothing official about the role in which he’ll be cast, the rumors have him in some sort of mentor to the young Solo.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody,” said the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. “His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
