Two big sequels hit the movies this weekend: High school Musical 3 and Saw 5. Both movies not only have highly faithful fanbases, but they also prove that movie studios will go to no end in their attempts to squeeze every last dime out of their fans wallets.

According to Box Office Mojo:

HSM 3 brought in $42,000,000
and Saw V Made $30,500,000

I’m not sure what kind of world we’re living in when dancing teens can be more popular than multiple dismemberments. Its a sad statement on society. Maybe next time they’ll combine the two films. Now that could be a hit!
