Kinekt Design Gear Ring

Hands down, this is one of the coolest pieces of Jewelry that we’ve seen. I’ve seen some puzzle rings and things like that that have moving parts, but the Kinekt ring is just nuts. These stainless steel rings actually have moving gears in them. It’s got a real smooth movement and it actually looks really cool. Each ring is handmade and its available in sizes from 5 – 13. It’s a great all around gift and an excellent accessory for that person in your life who always needs something to fidget with.

Parapluesch Psychologically Abused Stuffed Animals

These are some of the coolest and weirdest stuffed animals that we’ve seen in a long time and they are the perfect gift for anyone you know who has a twisted sense of humor. As the name says, they are psychologically abused stuffed animals. The sheep thinks he’s a wolf… so you can turn him inside out and he turns into one. The Turtle is horribly depressed, so you can make him better by actually taking him out of his shell. Each of them have their own defect and great little thing that makes them special.
Along with being super cute, these guys are freakishly cuddly. We haven’t seen stuffed animals made this well in quite some time. You can’t help but want to squeeze them and make them feel better.

This is a great gift for anyone you know who likes to customize the look of their gadgets. Gelaskins works with a bunch of pop culture companies and amazing artists to put their artwork on these skins that you can use to cover anything from your iPhone to your lap top or even your console system. It’s just sweet looking art that helps you put your stamp on your gear. Here’s some good advice though. Unless you 100% know what your gift getter would love the most, just give them a gift certificate. The library of art is so amazing that they’ll want to choose for themselves. Also, if they would prefer, they can even upload their own photos or art and turn them into a skin.

Ifrogz Custom NervePipes Headphones

Personally, Earbuds can be hit or miss for me. When I’m using head phones I usually like to have some old school headphones with the big cushy pads like my parents had for their 8-track player. The only problem is, I don’t like spending an arm and a leg on headphones and the less expensive ones tend to suck. Not these though. The Nervepipes headphones work great. First off, they are only $35. Next, they are comfortable as hell. They work well too. I gave these head phones the ultimate personal test… An airplane. I had great sound without having to blast them at full volume, and I could barely hear all the ruckus that normally bothers me on planes. On that subject, they also fold up really well so they don’t take up too much room in the bag.

Here’s what makes these just that extra bit cool. You can customize each pair. That’s right, you can actually make them fit your style. You can pick the colors for every single part of these head phones from the ear cushion to the hinges and everything in-between.

Deluxe Survival Kit
After testing this survival kit, it is pretty clear that there isn’t anyone in your life who wouldn’t benefit from finding this under their tree this year. heck, with the saw that comes with it, they can cut the tree down themselves!
This survival kit has some amazing tools in it that could really help you out in a dire situation. I don’t think I’d ever go camping again without it… and I’m keeping it in my car at all times otherwise. The kit comes with an amazing one handed Blastmatch fire starter that can create sparks in any situation and is way easier to use than even matches. Next you’ve got the Wetfire Tinder. This stuff is amazing. It will light on fire even when it’s wet. The Starflash signal mirror could really save you in a pinch. It is the only signal mirror I’ve ever seen that lets you aim to make sure the person you are signaling can see you. The Jetscream whistle makes sure that you can make a loud enough noise to be heard for miles, even in the rain. Finally, the Sabercut saw is just awesome. It’s a hand-operated chain saw that will cut in both directions and cleans itself as it goes. All together, there aren’t many problems that this kit can’t get you out of.

OK, there’s not really much to say about this except that it is one of the most awesome hats you can give to anyone this holiday season. The Cthulhu Toque is comfortable, cute and the best way to show your undying support for one of the oldest forms of evil in the universe.

We took the Toque somewhere we knew we would be able to find out if it was as cool as we thought it was… The Ren Faire! We couldn’t walk for more than five minutes without someone stopping to ask us where we got it. Just that alone let us know that we had to share it with you.

We thought the Wiki Reader was a great little gadget because it opens up part of the internet’s vast knowledge base without having to go online. This little mini reader, about the size of a large coaster has everything you’ll find on Wikipedia… and we mean everything. No matter what we tried to trip this thing up with, it was able to find the answer.
It was super simple to use and we can see it as an excellent tool for travel or just a good general reference tool for people who aren’t going to hop onto their smartphone to find out when skyline Chili was invented.

Moji tension release vest

$69.95
Headaches and sore shoulders suck, but in this stressed out world we live in, they are common. We had a chance to test this out on a family member who suffers from both and the Moji Tension Release vest actually helped them. Sure, it looks a little silly when you put it on, but it was comfortable and easy to manage. Just a short time in the microwave and you are treated to this super relaxing moist heat that warms you to the core and loosens you up as it soothes. If it can bring as much relief to someone you care about as it did to our tester, then you would be a fool not to grab it.

One extra bit of coolness on this vest. It doesn’t just do your neck and shoulders. if it’s your lower back that is hurting, just flip it over and it will do the trick.

Here’s where it gets awesome. You can trade your points for anything from MP3s and ringtones to gift certificates or even full console systems like PS3 and XBox 360. Origaudio rock-it … make speakers out of any smooth surface

This is one of those cool gifts that will pretty much make anyone stop and take notice. This vibration based speaker system can be attached to any smooth surface so that it can be used as a speaker. We tried it on everything from tissue boxes and cups to picture frames, glass windows and a glass table top. All of them gave immediate sound amplification. Honestly, it’s not going to be amazing hi-def sound, but it makes carrying around music that you want other people to hear really easy. Plus, there isn’t anyone out there who won’t stop and tell you how cool this thing is when you pull it out and stick it to their… well, their anything. Along with the cool factor, we liked that the Rock It not only works on two AA batteries, but it can also be used with a USB.

Origaudio Dynamic Duo fold and play recycled speakers

Attention anyone with hippy tree hugging eco freak friends. This is the gift to stuff their stockings with this year. These speakers fold up flat so they take up no room and they are made from completely recycled materials. That’s like… no carbon footprint man.

We tested these speakers on all the eco freak music from Ani DiFranco to Nick Drake. It even worked on music made by people who eat meat. Either way, giving a pair of these speakers tell the person that you care about that you care about the planet and you care about their taste in music. Personally, we just thought it was cool that they fold up flat so you can take them with you and they actually give a pretty decent sound.

Remote Control Lightsaber Light
Night lights are for babies… Light Sabers are for young Jedi! There’s not really much to say about this other than it makes for an awesome room addition to a kid’s bedroom. I will say this though, this isn’t something you want to be swinging around like other light sabers. It is really meant to be on the wall at all times.

What makes it cool? Simple, it’s a freaking light saber… on your wall!. Your kid can operate it with a remote control next to their bed if they need a little bit of the force to help them sleep. They can also change the color so it can be the lightsaber of their favorite character. This thing is just super awesome!

On a side note, this has some great uses beyond the kid’s room. If you are looking for an affordable way to add some geek accent lighting to your game room, this is the way to go.

I moved to Florida just so I wouldn’t have to use stuff like this, but most of you live somewhere that’s cold right now. For you, these Kombi Gloves are a great thing to have in your pocket. They are comfortable and good looking gloves that solve the biggest problem of any tech savvy snow-bunny. They will still let you operate your touch screen on your smart phones. I tried them on to see how they worked and they do a great job. They are also super comfy. Then I took them off… because it is 83 degrees outside. They come in men’s and women’s sizes in grey/black print for men and black/blue print, grey/fuschia print and black/purple print for women.

Konexi
It’s like Scrabble got drunk and had a baby with Jenga. Konexi is a game that combines word creation with stacking and balance for a challenging but hilarious time. We loved playing around with this game. The instructions are pretty basic and the game moves nice and quickly. The real challenge is being able to stack the letters without having the whole tower collapse. Now, not that we would ever advocate drinking or anything like that, but we have found that if you have to take a shot every time you knock over the tower, the game takes on a whole new skill level!
