ROCCAT Lua Tri-Button Gaming Mouse (ROC-11-310)

ROCCAT Lua is a one size fits all, ambidextrous tri-button gaming mouse. It features No-Sweat grips, a soft touch surface and fully-adjustable Pro-Optic sensors with your choice of seven DPI settings (250, 500, 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750 and 2000) so you can game to your little nerdy heart’s content. So a bunch of tech jargon and marketing copy aside, how does the ROOCAT Lua perform in a serious gaming session? Beautifully. The best thing about the mouse is how it feels. It doesn’t get too pretentious with its design. Its simple three-button layout works, although at times I do wish it came with side buttons. Overall, the mouse is extremely responsible and I find myself using the DPI settings quite often. For those wondering if it’s Mac compatible, it is, but with limited customability.

Google Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Player

Simply put, Chromecast is the easy way to watch online video and anything from the web on your smart TV. What it isn’t however, is a device that’ll let you stream local media (IE: that grainy bootleg copy of The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug you torrented) to your TV. With that said, Google’s Chromecast is as advertise in both ease of installation and broadcasting. It plugs into any HDTV and can be controlled via tablet or smartphone. There are “apps” on it that include everything from HBO GO, Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Pandora, and Google’s own array of in-house software. The Chomecast is definitely a revolutionary device that I find myself using on a daily bases and helps bridge the gap between a PC/MAC and TV.

BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer Smartphone Alcohol Tester for iOS and Android

The BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer is the world’s first breathalyzer that connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Using a highly accurate professional-grade alcohol sensor (Xtend Fuel Cell Sensor Technology) — the same technology trusted by hospitals, schools and law enforcement — the BACtrack can accurately calculate your blood alcohol content (BAC) and estimate how long it will take your BAC to return to 0.00%. And because data is saved, you can also look up your BAC from last night to last week. If you’re feeling social, the same data can be shared socially. If you’re going to get drunk this holiday season, the BACtrack will help you stay safe, educate you about drinking responsibly, all the while doing it in style.

DIVOOM Bluetune Solo Bluetooth Speaker

Let’s face it, most of our cell phones just don’t pump out enough sound to really give us quality tunes. I usually listen to Pandora while I’m cooking, and I can’t hear anything over sizzling meat or the blender. I’m happy to say that the Bluetoon has actually done a great job of piercing the sound barrier and giving me great sound without having to risk blowing out the speakers on my phone. The 8-hour charge on them gets me through almost an entire day, and the fact that I can daisy chain them to pump up the volume even more is a great bonus.
