Mattycollector recently uploaded some new images of their upcoming SDCC and MattyCollector.com exclusive DC Universe Classics Swamp Thing action figure. The new images show off the figure’s new endoskeletal articulation which is similar to what you’ll find in Barbies and deluxe figures from Hot Toys. The DCUC Swamp Thing will come in a paper pulp mold of a Swamp Thing head and he’ll be packed in a shipper box.

If you pick him up at SDCC, he’ll come with two bonus mini-figures of Un-Men Ophidian and Cranius. DC Universe Classics– Swamp Thing (plus Un-Men in SDCC packages) will set you back $30.00.

I was skeptic when the Swamp Thing figure was first announced with an internal articulation system. Now that I’ve seen detailed images I’m convinced it doesn’t work. Case in point, from the images you can already see the outer rubber skin tear at the wrist. Likewise, from the image to the left, you can see how the ab crunch clearly does not work. Yes, thank you Mattel, you’ve created a Swamp Thing figure with fat rolls. It’s just what I’ve always wanted, I guess dreams really can come true…
