As always, whenever there is a major shift in the story or a new season, you can bet that they’ll be tweaking the opening credits and theme song.

We are still 24 hours away from the actual Doctor Who Christmas Special, but now we have this great, fan-made, stop-motion short to carry us until Christmas Night.

Just because we won’t be seeing Carl, Rick and the rest of the gang until the middle of February doesn’t mean that they aren’t busy preparing for their own post apocalyptic Christmas.

Along with some fantastically creepy, man-eating snow men, this year’s Christmas Special also features the first appearance of the Doctor’s new companion, Clara.

While the US audience only got to see a note at the end saying that the new season would be coming in the Spring of 2011, the UK audience got to see a very exciting trailer for what is yet to come.

When Katy appears on the Simpsons, she’ll be one of the very few people in the show’s history to ever do so in live action. Even better, she’ll be surrounded by The Simpson family… in puppet form!
