We’ve all seen it, cartoon and tv characters stuffing their faces with out ever really seeing any consequences. Even Homer Simpson doesn’t get fatter… and he likes sticks of butter wrapped with bacon! Finally, someone took the time to see just how many calories some of the biggest cartoon and TV characters of our day are actually consuming… the numbers are mind boggling.

First, let’s look at Homer…
A normal 300 lb man should be eating around 2770 calories a day. Homer is coming in at almost 10 times that! If there’s 7,000 calories in a pound, Homer should be gaining almost 3 lbs a day

Here’s the breakdown for you:
Family size chips – 3600, Nuts and Gum – 950, Powerbar – 9, Hot dog – 280, 64 slices of cheese – 6400, 12 beers – 1740, 2 burgers (Big Mac) – 800, 3 large fries – 1200, 2 slurpees – 360, 13 donuts – 4,250, half pig – 3,000, bowl of mashed potatoes – 690, green been casserole – 1000, floor pie (2 slices) – 650

Homer isn’t the only cartoon committing gluttony. Garfield is even worse… if not on a smaller scale. A cat like Garfield should be eating around 240 calories. He’s beating that by over 30 times!

Here’s the breakdown for you.
Cat Food (two servings) – 1200, Coffee: 4 calories, Cake – 1800, Lasagna (8 servings) – 580

Finally, we’ve got Seinfeld. The TV show about nothing. Well, apparently it wasn’t about nothing… it was about eating!
