David Worsely and his wife were on a dream vacation to Tunisia, but he got more than he bargained for when his left testicle “exploded like a volcano.” It turns out that the 59 year old had contracted African salmonella.
Worsely knew something was up when he got home from the trip to find that he was in severe pain and his groin had swelled to ten times its normal size. However, it wasn’t until he was taking a bath that it erupted. Now, Worsely and his wife are seeking legal action against the tour operator that managed their holiday.
As a result of the explosion, doctors have no banned him sleeping with his wife until he is completely healed and free of the bacteria. That said, I can’t imagine that he’d want to have sex, or would she be all that keen on the prospect in his current state.
Interestingly, the actual explosion came as a relief to David.
“The pain was so bad I thought I was going to die. When it finally exploded I felt fantastic. It was such a relief. The doctor said I was highly contagious and that I wasn’t allowed to sleep with my wife. I was walking around holding them all the time, it was so heavy. It literally went bang. When the doctor saw it later she said that it was like a volcano exploding. But it was such a relief because the pain had been so bad.”
Worsely blames the tour operator for the psychological damage that the ordeal has caused… and also, because his ball exploded. When he started displaying symptoms on the vacation, the tour operators assured him that was just suffering from sunstroke.
