Sometimes you just can’t help but be passionate over something you love. Just ask 35-year old Chester Marcial “Chet” Ward, who was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his roommate after he became upset over points in his Fantasy Football league.

According to a report from the Charlotte Country Sheriff’s Office in Punta Gorda, Chet allegedly brandished a knife and sliced pages in the book his roommate was reading before directing the knife to his neck threatening to kill him.

In the police report, his roommate was stated as being fearful of his life and ran to a neighbor’s home before dialing 911.

When questioned by deputies, Ward admitted that he had been upset over points from his fantasy football league and that his roommate had been ignoring him which prompted him to pull out his knife and cut the book as a joke.

Ward also argued that he had never threatened to kill his roommate. Authorities arrested him however on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which prompted Ward to resist and escape arrest.

Eventually Ward was tasered and brought down by another deputy and now face addition charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
