Local News is having to try harder and harder to get viewers now that they have to compete with cable news channels and the internet. Channel 19 Action News is taking a whole new approach to getting attention. In their recent coverage of a local city corruption trial, the reporters were not allowed into the courthouse. So, they decided to reenact parts of the court transcript, word for word, with puppets.
This is not a parody. It is the actual transcript of a current federal corruption case against Jimmy Dimora. In keeping with the classiness of the entire set up, the station is calling it “The Puppets Court!”
