A 49-year-old man from Alabama has been charged with attempted murder, after he drove his vehicle through the window of a petrol station.

Roger Mayes is accused of driving through the window of a Jefferson County service station in his Ford Explorer, after apparently threatening to kill a female shop keeper during an argument over the gas station’s “Pay first, then pump” policy. Police eventually subdued him with a stun gun.

According to a man online who identifies as Mayes brother, Mayes had been over medicated the day before and was trying to come off the medication.

“I think his mind just snapped, and as you can hear on some of the videos of this he was not making sense…our parents are old and in bad health and this has just about killed them, too. I’m just trying to keep things together for my mom…”
