Police apprehended a bank robber and had recovered all but a dollar of the stolen money.

Bank manager Tommy Ellison of Nachogdoche, Texas, confirmed that his branch was robbed Tuesday morning at around 10am by a robber who left a note with the teller which said he did not want to hurt her, but needed money.

The alleged robber, 21-year-old Byron Jacovin Garrett, then ran out of the store while leaving a dollar in the Salvation Army kettle on his way out.

The suspect was however apprehended later near the Nacogdoches Medical Center without incident. The bank has decided to leave the dollar in the Salvation Army kettle.
