Clean energy and clean water are two of the biggest challenges facing humanity in the future and now Zero Mass Water, a clean energy start up in Arizona, thinks they may have solved both problems at the same time. They call their new solar hydropanels “SOURCE” and they can be installed on a roof in as little as few hours, harvesting up to 5-10 liters of water per day. Unfortunately, the new tech doesn’t come cheap. Currently, one panel will cost you around $2,000 plus another $500 to install. Over the 10 year life cycle of the panel, that brings the cost of water to somewhere between 12-30 center per liter. Still, it’s a great step forward towards a cleaner and wetter future.
