Why Are We Teaching Killer Whales To Speak English?

In a move that will probably lead to the eventual overthrowing of mankind by an army of Orcas, researchers are trying to teach killer whales to speak. In the video below, you can see the results. Call me a skeptic, but I’ve seen dogs do a much better version of English.

The scientists behind the project at Complutense University of Madrid, have been using Wilkie the Whale for their experiment. They say that he can say things like Hello, Bye Bye, and even count to three. This might be a situation where the researchers are just hearing what they want to hear. Either way, it’s going to be a few years before they are ready for their first press conference.
