While Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has earned over $800 million at the global box office, the film was not the hit that Marvel and Disney were expecting. A big part of that comes from the lack of Chadwick Boseman.
With the film set to drop on Disney+ on February 1st, effectively ending its theatrical run, attention is apparently already turning to the next chapter in the franchise.
Letitia Wright (Shuri/ Black Panther) was asked about what’s next for the people of Wakanda on the red carpet of last night’s Golden Globe Awards. Here’s what she had to say:
“I think it’s already in the works. You know, we just had a terrific two years of just bringing it out and everybody coming together to support it. We need a little bit of a break, we need to regroup, and Ryan [Coogler] needs to get back into the lab so it’s going to take a while, but really excited for you guys to see that.”
