After multiple delays that included both COVID-19 and a serious on-set injury for Jon Cho (Spike Spiegel), it has now been announced that the Netflix live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop has wrapped filming.
News of the completion of filming came through series co-star, Daniella Pineda (Faye Valentine)’s Instagram feed. The new series is expected to drop on Netflix some time later this year, but there’s no news as to exactly when it will happen.
Based on the worldwide phenomenon from Sunrise Inc., Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Radical Ed: a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world…for the right price.
