The sequel to the soft reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise has begun production according to a new Instagram posted by producer and writer Jason Reitman. The film has had a couple of names up to this point, with IMDB still referring to it as Ghostbusters: Hell’s Kitchen, but the slate in the picture seems to confirm that the film will be called Ghostbusters: Firehouse.
At the end of the last movie, we saw Winston return to the Firehouse, which he now owns. We also saw him unveil a refurbished Ecto-1. No story details have been revealed, but it looks like the new movie will feature Ernie Hudson’s Winston mentoring a new team of Ghostbusters that probably includes the cast of the first film.
Along with Hudson, the new film will reportedly feature returning cast: Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Paul Rudd, Bill Murray, and Dan Aykroyd. If the Firehouse is opening back up for business, we sincerely hope that Annie Potts is also on hand to once again reprise her role as Janine.
