2000AD is reporting that they and Rebellion have teamed up with DNA Films (Sunshine, 28 Days later, The last King of Scotland) to create a new Judge Dredd film that will begin production in 2009.
In case anyone doesn’t remember the last Judge Dredd movie, it starred Sylvester Stallone, his speech impediment and was a massive utter failure. So news of a new film is quite exciting, even if it doesn’t ever come to fruition much like the “other” Judge Dredd movie announced by Rebellion all the way back in 2001.
For now I guess we’ll just have to take Jason Kingsley, CEO and Creative Director, word for it: “We can’t give away too many details at this point, but we’re looking forward to working with DNA Films to bring Judge Dredd back to the big screen.”
