We don’t often post about celebrity deaths on the site, but we just found out that Stan Lee has passed away at the age of 95. While much of the last two years have been filled with more tabloid activity than he should have ever had to endure, his legacy is the countless characters he created and co-created and the happiness that his work spread through multiple generations (and many more to come). Along with being a devoted husband and father, Stan Lee helped create Marvel comics. Without him, iconic characters like Spider-Man, X-Men, Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, and The Fantastic Four would not exist.
I’ve never had the chance to meet Stan Lee, but I know many people who have. They have all spoken about the kindness he showed them and what a great person he was. In a recent interview, he talked about how much he missed his recently deceased wife Joan, whom he had been married to since 1947. At 95 years of age, he led a full life and he left an indelible mark on a world that was as inspired by him as they were entertained.
