A brand new creepy ass redband trailer has been released for the Guillermo del Toro produced, “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.” As Del Toro puts it, the film is a classic horror. That means it will scare you old school style with things that bump in the dark rather than blood, gore, torture and other BS horror films have turned into the last decade. The film will be rated R, not for violence but to scare you so bad you can’t sleep at night without a night light. The redband trailer also gives us our first clear look at the “Tooth Fairies.” The filthy rat like “Tooth Fairies”…
Here’s the official film synopsis:
Guillermo del Toro presents DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, a horror film starring Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison, directed by Troy Nixey. Based on the 1973 telefilm that del Toro believes is the scariest TV production ever made, the story follows Sally (Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the house, Sally starts to hear voices coming from creatures in the basement whose hidden agenda is to claim her as one of their own. Akin to del Toro’s PAN’S LABYRINTH, DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK focuses on a young girl’s struggle against menacing and terrifying forces.
It took the film awhile, but it’s finally going to be released this month on August 26th. You have to watch this film, if not at least watch this trailer and try not to piss yourself.
