DreamWorks have announced their new cast line-up for the upcoming CGI animated sequel “Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom.”
The line-up will include Gary Oldman, Michelle Yeoh, Jean Claude Van Damme and Victor Garber. Together they will join the original cast members Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross and James Hong.
Oldman is said to play the role of the new villain Lord Shen, a peacock. Yeoh will play The Soothsayer, a mythical goat. Meanwhile both Van Damme and Garber will complete the cast as Master Croc and Master Thundering Rhino.
So what can we expect from the sequel? Well according to producer Melissa Cobb the sequel will have Po kicking for ass and saving the day:
“In the sequel, Po goes on an amazing personal journey and we are thrilled to have assembled such a talented and well-respected group of actors to bring to life our new characters, who – alongside our returning cast – play such a critical role in Po’s quest and his ultimate triumph over the forces of evil.”
Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom” is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and has a June 3, 2011 release date.
