Wes Ball To Direct Live Action Full-Length Movie based on His Short Animated Film, Ruin

When Wes Ball first released his 8 minute animated short, Ruin, he described it as “An animated short set in a post-apocalyptic universe. It’s an introduction to a much larger project in the works.”

Well, he wasn’t kidding about a much bigger project. It is now being announced that FOX wants Ball to make a Live action film based off his animated short, and they see it as having the potential to be a franchise.

The short is beautifully rendered and directed and definitely worth watching if you haven’t seen it yet. My only concern is that the whole short is a chase scene. So, there’s pretty much no plot to speak of. That gives Ball a heck of a lot of rope to hang himself with.
