As part of our weekly Geek of the week feature, we’ll be introducing you to everyone from movie industry insiders, to celebrities, scientists, and of course… SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GEEKS IN THE WORLD!

Helping us Kick off our first ever Geek of the Week Posting is our very first Girl of the Month: Raychul Moore of

Name: Raychul Moore

Favorite Movie:
Some of my favorite movies are the original Star Wars trilogy, the Halloween and Friday the 13th films, City of Lost Children, Oldboy, the Indiana Jones series, James Bond movies, Texas Chainsaw series, Serenity, Evil Dead Trilogy, Equilibrium, the Saw and Hostel movies, Dawn of the Dead, House of 1000 Corpses and the Suicide Club. I really love horror films, from the campy cheesy films to the over the top gore fest movies. I am also a huge zombie fan.

Favorite TV Show:
I usually do not like what the general public likes, as far as TV goes. I hate most sitcoms too. Some of my favorite shows from past and present are Firefly, Dead Like Me, Invader Zim, Sealab 2021, Family Guy, the Girls Next Door, Da Ali G Show, CSI, Dexter, the Office and Lost.

Favorite book:
Very few books really get to me and make me want to read them more than once. The few books that I enjoyed so much that I have read more than once are 1984, Flowers in the Attic, and the Door to December.

Favorite Author:
I really love crime novels and books that deal a lot in forensics, so the two authors I read that really satisfy my reading urge would be James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell.

Do you read comics?
I don’t read a lot of comics, but one that I have been meaning to start is The Walking Dead.

What is the strangest food concoction that you just can’t live without?
Probably the weirdest food habit I have is my soup and crackers. I love soup but I hate how liquid-y it is, so I put so many crackers in my soup that it becomes like a paste

That’s a very interesting way to spell your name. Is there a story behind it?
Hahaha, pretty much it’s just spelt phonetically and even then, people still look at it and have some trouble pronouncing it.

Favorite Video games?
It’s really hard for me to look at all the games that I have really enjoyed and only pick a few, so I will give you my favorite games in each genre.

• One of my favorite genres is the survival horror genre, so a few of my favorites from that group would be the Fatal Frame series, the Silent Hill games (except Silent Hill: the Room, I pretend like that one never happened), Resident Evil 4 (good to see that series being raised from the dead) and Clock Tower 3.
• From my other favorite genre, the action/adventure genre, I really favor the Grand Theft Auto series, the God of War games, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Bully and the Lego series.
• In the shooter genre I really love Gears of War, Bioshock and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.
• In racing I really only enjoy the Burnout games and a little bit of Midnight Club.
• I do not play a lot of RPG’s, if I do then I usually stick to hack n’ slash RPG’s. Some of my favorites from this genre include both Champions of Norrath games, Phantasy Star Online and Kingdom Hearts 2.
• And lastly, some of my favorite platform games are anything Mario, naturally, the original Spyro games, I-Ninja, Animal Crossing and Wallace and Gromit: Project Zoo.

Favorite Console?
My favorite console of all time is the Dreamcast, I really think that system was way before it’s time and I think the Dreamcast really paved the way for gaming as we know it now. My favorite next-gen console is by far the Xbox 360. The 360 is untouchable as far as the amount of games available for it, the quality of games available, the online access and their Xbox Live content, and everything the system has to offer just completely railroads all other current systems.

Who is your favorite Superhero:
I really prefer superheroes who are your “normal guy” like Iron Man or Batman, not some kid with social interaction issues who happens to have superpowers, like Spider-Man or Superman. I like superheroes like Iron Man and Batman because they are able to kick just as much ass or more, then the guys with the powers, without all the super magic. Iron Man and Batman rely on their brains to defeat the bad guys…all the other super guys out there need their powers to be anything, without their powers they are just whimpering teenagers.

If you were a superhero, what would your power be?
Mind control. It would kinda be like being a Jedi with Jedi mind-tricks and such. Who needs to shoot laser beams out of their eyes if I can control their minds to not shoot the laser beams in the first place?

What are some of your hobbies outside of gaming?
Hobbies outside of gaming? Is there such a thing? I really like collecting action figures from horror movies and video games. My current collection obsession is Mighty Muggs from Hasbro. So far, the Star Wars and Indiana Jones collection is complete. All I am missing from the Marvel collection is Venom.
Another thing I enjoy, which I guess you could call a hobby, is in October I like to travel to different haunted houses. Not the “real” haunted houses you see in Ghost Hunters, but the fun ones where you walk through in the dark and there are people in there hiding and waiting to jump out and scare the shit out of you. I love being scared. So I have been traveling to different haunted houses for about 7-8 years now and have been to well over 100 different attractions. If I find one I really like then I usually will go back the next year.

How did you get started as a gamer?
I got started as a gamer at a very young age. My dad bought an Atari 2600 for himself, but I ended up being the primary user. I don’t even think I really knew how to hold the controller correctly because I was so young. My parents kept the passion going though, next they bought me the NES, then the SNES and well, you know the rest of the story.

Do you ever dress up like your favorite game characters and go to conventions?
Of course! Halloween is my favorite time of the year; I love dressing up in costume! This year was my first year at Comic Con and I was SO excited to be able to wear a costume. So, I went as Natalia Kassle from the Danger Girl comics and as Supergirl. Next year I plan on going again, but I am not yet sure what my costumes will be. I am open to suggestions.

In a fight to the death, who would win, a polar bear or a Great White Shark?
A shark would totally win! One bite and that polar bear would be in pieces.

As an attractive woman who loves video games, what sort of reaction do you get from other gamers? Do they give you respect, shun you as a poser…?
I guess a little of both. I receive the most resistance from other females. I am not sure why, but most of the time other girls (gamer girls in specific) can be the most manipulative and hateful of the bunch. They will be the first to make accusations and call an “attention whore” on boards.

As far as the guys go, you know guys don’t get caught up in that whole catty business, so usually guys are pretty cool. Guys, for the most part, don’t hate you the first time they meet you, they are open minded and not judgmental, like females can be. Plus, most guys, after taking time to talk to me or get to know me see that I am just a geek on the inside. I can quote most of the dialogue from the Star Wars films (I have a thing for Storm Troopers), I can totally geek out about computer specs, and I love going to the comic store and looking at all their new action figures.

The only guys that give me shit are the 13 year olds on message boards or on Live who give everyone shit. Those kids can be so racist and so disrespectful to everyone, it’s pretty pathetic.

We know you’re in a relationship, but you must get hit on a lot. What was the most memorable pick up attempt that you’ve experienced?
Hmm, I think the most memorable was at a Konami party during an E3 a few years back. I was sitting down just watching everyone (I am not a huge party or club girl, so when I do go I enjoy just people watching) and this guy came up, sat down beside me and without saying a word he pushed his hand up my skirt.

Needless to say, that guy, no matter how drunk he may be will never try that on any girl ever again.

I really do not like the cocky kinda guys who come up all secure and has some kind of lame pick up line. I know that works on a lot of girls, but not with me. The guy who catches my eye is the guy who is keeping to himself in the corner. The guy who looks kinda nervous or outta place, because that’s how I feel when I am at a party or a club. I would rather be home playing on Live then being someone I am not and dancing with the guys with big muscles. Plus, the guy who is shy and bashful is being real when he talks to you, the drunk guy who is the smooth talker is not being real.

If you had to choose between a month without gaming or a month without sex, which would you choose and why?
Hahaha, this is the hardest question I have ever been asked! Can a person even go without either or for a whole month?! It’s a no-win situation; if I have no gaming then I have sex to take out my frustrations with. But with no sex I have gaming to take my frustrations out with.

Honestly, all the guys be disappointed with my answer, but I would rather go without sex for a month. My reasoning is, with sex, it only distracts you for a limited amount of time, then afterwards or between you are left sitting there thinking about all the games you could be playing. With gaming, I can play a game for several hours…or even all day to distract me from any kind of sexual frustration I might be having. All in all, I think I will be more satisfied and more distracted if I had to go without sex for a month then if I had to go without gaming for a month.

What projects do you have coming up and where can people go to see you online or live?

Well you can always find me on where you can read my game reviews and check out what’s new in recent gaming news. Also, I can always be reached at my email Feel free to email me with comments, suggestions, or even just to chat.

I will also be at E For All in LA this October 3rd thru 5th, so if you run into me there, please stop me and say “Hi!”

Lastly, check out the November 2008 issue of GamePro Magazine for a multi-page feature on me and my fellow GameGirl, Nikole.

Thanks to Raychul for taking time out of her busy schedule to be our very first Girl of the Month

    1. TCM Hitchhiker: Thanks! :) I am guessing your user name means Texas Chainsaw Massacre Hitchhiker, if you, you just won a spot in my heart! :)

Black Cat: Thanks too! But I think you mean the GameGirls of :) Number one girls gaming site on the web!! :)

  1. Yep, that is what it stands for. I am a long time fan of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, and Edwin Neal’s performance as the Hitchhiker is one of my favorites in horror. :) Thanks for the spot in your heart. :)
