Fox Wants To Film ‘X-Force’ In October, Planning ‘Silver Surfer’

I know that a lot of people look at the Disney deal with FOX and see a giant corporation getting bigger and bigger. Right now I’m looking at it as a way to prevent Fox from ruining Silver Surfer. For me, it can’t happen soon enough. Hell, it’s already a travesty that we won’t see our favorite shiny alien popping onto the screen in Infinity War. News of the film came out today in a THR report that also states the studio is planning to start filming their X-Force film as soon as this October.

The report is that Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin will be heading up the cast of the film. As far as who will be filling in the rest of the team, it’s a good bet that at least some of the members have already been teased in the most recent Deadpool 2 trailer. If you recall, there is a scene from the trailer where we see the whole team standing in the back of a cargo plane: Cable, Deadpool, Domino (Zaziee Beats), GW Bridge (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan), and Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgård). With Wolfsbane and Cannonball seemingly doing time in an institution in the upcoming New Mutants film, we probably won’t see them. I also wouldn’t expect to see any entirely CG characters, like Warlock or The Doop, for budgetary reasons. AS to whether they’ll try to bring in a character likes X-23 or not will be very interesting. It wouldn’t be surprising though, especially given the success of Logan and the fact that there currently only seems to be on female on the team.

Moving back to the Silver Surfer film, there’s one thing keeping me from the worry that it could be a complete and utter disaster. That little spark of light is that Runaways/Y - The Last Man/ Saga creator, Brian K Vaughn is set to write the screenplay.
