Muggles everywhere just took a blow to the ego, the seven book series that spawned some of the highest grossing films of all time and one of the coolest new theme parks has just been overtaken in overall book sales by Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy.
The Harry Potter series sales record was earned through seven books and over ten years. Meanwhile, The Hunger Games trilogy managed to take the throne in just four years and with only three books.
Now, the only thing that Hunger Games have to worry about is how much longer the Fifty Shades of Grey books will remain at the top of the sales charts. I’m pretty sure that if they take the all time sales record, we are allowed to just call a mulligan on society and burn all libraries to the ground.
