A deviantart artist who goes by the name of Tokyogenso works as an animator and game designer by day, but by night… or I guess whenever he has free time, he creates some of the most breathtaking images of a post-apocalyptic Japan that you’ve ever seen.

According to his profile, he actually paints on photographs taken around Japan. When he starts out with an image, it is a standing, normal building, he then paints in the decay and wear. The results are amazing.

Given the horrors that Japan has been through in the last several weeks, these images take on an even deeper meaning.
