Joss Whedon doesn’t have too much on his plate. I’m guessing that he has plenty of time to lounge around between working on Avengers 2, overseeing every other project in the Marvel Phase 2 project, filming the SHIELD TV pilot, getting his Shakespeare film Much Ado About Nothing, and working on Doctor Horrible 2.
Right, the guy is probably a red-eyed train wreck right now, but he is getting is stuff done and EW just recently found out that he’s making progress on the Avengers sequel.
We met with him just days after he had submitted an outline for the 2015 sequel The Avengers, and as he was in the midst of preparing to shoot the pilot for what could be his next television series: S.H.I.E.L.D, a spy-fi drama tracking the ongoing adventures of the secret agents and superhero wranglers of Marvel’s movie world. If ABC picks up the series, Whedon will remain involved as exec producer, and frequent collaborators Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible) and Jeffrey Bell (Angel) will serve as lead showrunners.
