Just a couple of hours ago, we brought you the first full trailer for Season Six of The Walking Dead (Click Here to Watch). For thousands of fans in Hall H, they got to see it on a big screen in the presence of a good chunk of the show’s cast.
While show creator, Robert Kirkman could not attend due to throat surgery the panel was well stocked with Scott M. Gimple, Gale Ann Hurd, Dave Alpert, Greg Nicotero, Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Michael Cudlitz, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Sonequa Martin Green, and Norman Reedus.
If you didn’t recognize some of the newest faces in the trailer, Corey Hawkins has joined the show as Heath, along with Ethan Embry, and Merrit Weaver who will be playing a comic book character.
– Here are some of the best nuggets we got from the panel:
This season’s premier features their largest walker extra scene. They actually used over 650 extras for just that one scene.
There are a lot of new advancements in Walker rot. This year we’ll be seeing a lot more rotting and even some plant life growing on them.
They also announced that the premier will make the rounds of 125 countries and 250 million TVS within 24 hours of it’s October 11th US airing.
– When asked about the appearance of a conflict between Rick and Morgan this season, Showrunner Scott Gimple said that sometimes they play with truth in trailers, but that there will be some fallout from the ending of season five.
– The wolves will be part of the season, but not in the way we would expect from the comics.
