While Dave Bautista was quick to let everyone know exactly where he stood on the firing of James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Chris Pratt’s first statement was a bible quote reminding everyone to listen to people, love them, and to do both of those things before judging them. He then followed up as part of the cast letter that was published in support of Gunn’s re-hiring. Now the actor is starting to open up a little more about it to the Associated Press. This is what he had to say.
“It’s not an easy time. We all love James and he’s a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what’s right and be the best people we can be.”
Pratt also addressed how the announcement of Gunn’s firing, just as Comic-Con began, changed the event for him this year.
“I love going to Comic-Con but I ended up not doing a lot of interviews around that time just because it was so shocking,” Pratt added. “All I know is we put a lot of time, thought and effort into the statement that we released about it. And I think we all kind of want that statement to be essentially what we have to say about it. And we were pretty clear and honest about how we feel.”
