Yesterday, it was formally announced that Ben Affleck was out as Batman for Matt Reeve’s upcoming reboot of the franchise, The Batman. From there, it didn’t take long for people to start guessing, and even betting, on who would be the next to take up the cape and cowl in defense of Gotham.
Irish Betting SIte, Boylesports has started taking odds on which actor will take the role. The range of talent is pretty broad with Armie Hammer currently leading with 7/2 odds and both Hugh Jackman and Henry Cavill listed at 100/1 odds.
Who do you think will be the next Batman?
7/2 Armie Hammer
11/2 Jake Gyllenhaal
13/2 Jon Hamm
8/1 Michael B. Jordan
8/1 Ben Barnes
9/1 John Krasinski
10/1 Jamie Dornan
16/1 Josh Brolin
16/1 Matthew Goode
16/1 Chris Pratt
16/1 Michael Fassbender
16/1 Chris Pine
18/1 Ryan Gosling
33/1 Leonardo DiCaprio
33/1 Idris Elba
50/1 Keanu Reeves
50/1 Daniel Craig
50/1 Colin Farrell
50/1 Tom Hardy
50/1 Chris Evans
100/1 Cillian Murphy
100/1 Ewan McGregor
100/1 Henry Cavill
100/1 Hugh Jackman
We aren’t quite sure who made this list, but it’s what people are betting on. at 100/1, we would still call Henry Cavill a long-shot. There’s no way that Warner Bros would cast their most recent Superman as Batman. Hammer is also a really odd choice for the Batman role as he previously cast in the unmade George Miller Justice League film which also starred D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Adam Brody as The Flash, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter, and Common as Green Lantern.
