For a while, it was looking like the JJ Abram directed Star Trek film series was set to end after major disputes on budgets and casting. Now word is coming through that a next chapter is coming, but it will be helmed by WandaVision Writer/Director Matt Shankman. This is great news for Trek fans after yesterday’s announcement that WandaVision garnered more than 20 Emmy nominations yesterday.
The big question up in the air right now is who will be filling the seats on the Bridge when the next Star Trek Film takes flight. Deadline is reporting that Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and the rest of the “Kelvin Timeline” crew are expected to return, but THR is reporting that “it’s unknown if castmembers from Abrams’ 2009 reboot, led by Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, will be in the film.”
